I didn't take a straight line to psychotherapy.
A liberal arts degree from Pomona College gave me a broad, curious foundation, and an MA in journalism from the University of Southern California set me on a 10-year career as a broadcast journalist.
That work was rich and demanding. And it planted a deep curiosity about the interior life of the people I was interviewing, a desire to understand and help rather than just report. That inclination eventually led me back to graduate school for an MA in Counseling and Educational Psychology from UNR — and to more than two decades of work I find meaningful every day.
Psychotherapy can be a powerful path to transformation — and I've had the privilege of witnessing that transformation, again and again, for over twenty-five years.
